Checklist progress — your dental school application checklist progress is saved to your account
Saved articles — articles you bookmark are stored in your account

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party database provider with industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit. Community posts are stored in the same database and are visible to all SmileSmart users.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

4. Third-Party Services

SmileSmart uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
Resend — email delivery for welcome emails (resend.com)
Netlify — website hosting (netlify.com)
Anthropic — AI dental chat powered by Claude (anthropic.com)
Amazon Associates — affiliate links in our shop. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no cost to you.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

5. Cookies

SmileSmart uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes beyond what is necessary to operate the site.

8. AI Chat Disclaimer

The SmileSmart AI chat is powered by Anthropic's Claude. Questions you ask the AI may be processed by Anthropic's systems. The AI chat provides general dental information only — it is not a substitute for professional dental advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Your AI chat conversations are not stored in your SmileSmart account.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of SmileSmart after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
